At a glance

• Your captures and searchable memory library are stored locally on your Mac.
• Screen capture happens only when you initiate it.
• Cloud-powered Pro features are optional and run only when you request them.
• Remember This does not sell your personal information or use it for advertising.

Information stored on your Mac

Remember This may store the following information locally:

• The screen regions you choose to capture.
• Text recognized from captures using on-device OCR.
• Titles, summaries, keywords, collections, pins, reminder links, dates, and other organizational metadata.
• Optional webpage context, such as the title and URL of the browser page you chose to capture.
• App preferences, privacy settings, and backup configuration.

This data is not uploaded merely because you save or search a memory.

Optional Pro features

If you use enhanced visual analysis, Ask, or weekly digests, the content needed to fulfill that request may be sent securely to our service and processed by infrastructure providers, including Cloudflare and OpenAI. Depending on the feature, this can include selected capture images, recognized text, titles, summaries, or related memory metadata.

These requests are used to return the feature you selected and to protect and operate the service. We do not use your memory content to build an advertising profile. Monthly request counts and subscription entitlement information may be retained to enforce your plan allowance and prevent abuse.

Purchases and subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We receive transaction and subscription status needed to unlock Pro features, but we do not receive your full payment-card details. Apple's handling of purchase information is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

Permissions

Remember This may request these macOS permissions:

• Screen & System Audio Recording: required to capture a screen region you select. Remember This does not record audio.
• Automation: optionally used to obtain the title and URL of the browser page you chose to capture.
• Reminders: used only when you choose to create a reminder from a saved memory.
• Files and folders: used when you choose an export or encrypted-backup location.
• Network access: used for optional Pro features, subscription verification, and links you choose to open.

The app does not require Accessibility, Full Disk Access, or access to your browser history database.

Sensitive information

Remember This can warn when a capture appears to contain information such as an email address, phone number, financial identifier, or secret key. You can blur the capture, save it unchanged, or cancel. Detection is a safety aid and may not identify every sensitive item.

Backups and exports

Exports and backups are created only when you request or schedule them. Encrypted backups are saved to the location you choose. Files placed in a third-party synchronized folder are then governed by that provider's terms and privacy practices.

Retention and deletion

You control locally stored memories and can move them to Trash or delete them. Uninstalling the app and removing its local data removes its local library. Limited service records, such as request counts, security logs, and subscription verification data, may be retained as reasonably needed to operate the service, comply with law, and prevent fraud or abuse.

Children

Remember This is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The effective date at the top of this page will identify the latest version.
